This winter we did not fly south with the “snowbirds” due to my husband’s medical problems. Instead we chose to remain at home on LBI through rain, snow and northeast storms. “Birding” became our new winter hobby, a hobby requiring minimum equipment.

All we needed was a bag of bird seed and a National Geographic bird book. Our hobby takes place right in our living room where we have excellent views oftwo bird feeders on the deck outside the windows.
