To the Editor:
I have been a renal social worker in Manahawkin for over 13 years, and transportation for our dialysis patients is the number one concern I come across on a daily basis.
According to January 2024 data from our renal network (Quality Insights Network 3), there are 795 dialysis patients in Ocean County among 10 different dialysis units. End stage renal disease patients come to dialysis treatment three times a week for an average four hours per treatment for the rest of their lives.
