Every spring, freshwater anglers in New Jersey eagerly anticipate the opening of the state trout season. This year that date is April 11 at 8 a.m.
The N.J. Department of Fish and Wildlife is stocking trout into two Ocean County lakes, Prospertown Lake in Jackson and Lake Pohatcong in Tuckerton, from March 23 through April 11 at 8 a.m. They are closed to any sort of fishing during that time period.
