Temme Steps Aside for Something New After 20 Years of Leading SCYC Youth Sailing Program

Andy Temme’s influence at Surf City Yacht Club runs deep, particularly with its youth sailing program.

“He always finds ways to make sailing fun and different,” said Ian Willoughby, one of the junior sailing instructors under Temme’s guidance this summer. “I grew up sailing here, since I was 8 years old. Now I’m 23, and, to me, he’s always been the most inspirational person out on the water. He’s an amazing teacher. He’s one of the foundations of this yacht club.”
