One of the major advantages of being on our beloved Island is the incredible sky watching that can happen only here. Thanks to less air and light pollution, Long Beach Island experiences unequaled views of the sky both night and day. In years past, as a guest on the Island with family and friends, I have observed summer meteor showers against a star-studded night sky; the rise of Venus out of the ocean foam; and the sparkling beams of a full moon rippling across evening waves.

During the daytime, our eyes can perceive a sometimes cloudless azure sky under a beaming yellow sun.
