Sunrise Bay resident Frank McArdle was recognized for his courageous service with a Quilt of Valor during a ceremony held for him in his community clubhouse on July 27.
The Quilt of Valor Foundation was started in 2003 by a nurse and quilter whose son served. She envisioned a soldier burdened by the struggles of war, wrapped in the comfort of a quilt.
