There are two types of creatures that inhabit the ocean beaches of Long Beach Islandon days when nothing else will: seagulls and surfcasters. Fishers alike, both are out there when the rest of us are not. Weather does not play a factor in their day. Their world is not guided by temperature, humidity or sunburn index, but rather only by the catch.

They are symbiotic in a way, as they read each other’s actions and movements.
