For several years, Kenneth G. Miller, a distinguished professor in the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences at Rutgers University, taught a course titled “Should I Sell My Shore House?” and – spoiler alert – he did. The family purchased their vacation home, on Barnegat Bay in Waretown, in 1991, and sold the residence in 2015, not long after Superstorm Sandy tore through the area in 2012.
