John F. Kennedy once said, “We are tied to the ocean. And when we go back to the sea, whether it is to sail or to watch – we are going back to whence we came.” I have often contemplated and written about the healing power of the ocean, especially seeing it from my beloved Long Beach Island, where you stand literally in a space within a space, set apart from the rest of the world by seawater.
