Red Drum Take to Hot Blackening; In Woods Wear Orange, and Step Sharply

RED DRUM AND BLACKENING: Joe Handley recently vied for a $100 prize in the LBI Surf Fishing Classic by weighing in the event’s first legal red drumfish. He caught two “puppy drum” (small drumfish) in short order. At least two others, non-Classic, were taken, from what I read on Facebook.

Red drum, aka redfish, often school up a bit. In this case, they were likely moving south in unison, following the bait of least resistance, like peanut bunker and crabs.
