To the Editor:
On Sunday, June 18 my husband and I locked up our seaside cottage and headed home to a graduation party in Pennsylvania. Shortly thereafter we received a call from the Ship Bottom Police Department informing us that there was a fire at our property. Needless to say, it was an anxious two-hour ride back to the Island.
Upon our arrival we were met by the Ocean County Fire Marshal. The first words he spoke were “You are blessed” – words he repeated many times that evening.
