We moved to Barnegat Township two years ago based on our research, which showed Barnegat had the lowest crime rate in Ocean County (no violent crime), lower property taxes and Barnegat was rated “the third best place to live in New Jersey with low taxes” (tax rate only 0.854%). As senior citizens living on a fixed income, we moved to the Mirage complex to save over $4,650 per year in property taxes and enjoy the beautiful bay and beaches.
