I heard something at a Beach Haven municipal meeting on Feb. 13 that I have never heard before. It was in response to Councilman Michael Battista’s statement in lobbying for six new pickleball courts at the Nelson Avenue Park in addition to the six courts that are already there. The proposed courts would be built on what is currently a grassy field where the year-round and summertime families congregate.

Battista said at the end of the day, “Our property value is our number one priority.”
