Three boys, a cat, a station wagon,
The picture’s not complete,
Without a protective loving pooch,
To fill the whole back seat.
Santa Claus would bring him,
A cuddly frightened pup,
He’d sneak him in at 1 a.m.,
Before the kids got up.
We’d have to keep him quiet,
He must be a surprise!
So we slept with him that long night
And never shut our eyes.
Can’t wait to see their faces,
To see them jump for joy.
It’s the best present surely,
For any lively boy.
Morning’s here! They’re wide awake,
And ready to come out.
Santa’s come! It’s time! It’s time!
We hear them scream and shout.
I hope he brought my ghost gun,
G.I. Joe, my mini bike.
A football, says our Billy.
A scooter’s what Stevie’d like.
