We live on an island, which comes with its blessings and also its curses. High tides, full moons, nor’easters, incessant winds, hip boots for wading from your front door to your car parked on higher ground, saltwater-soaked gardens, soggy newspapers. It’s a constant battle with corrosion from saltwater- anything metal. And yes, not too long agoa devastating hurricane. Conditions can be brutal.

But then there are the blessings: God’s beautiful sunrises, followed by breathtaking sunsets.
