The inaugural Simon’s Heart of a Champion 5K in Surf City hits the ground running April 25 to benefit scholarships and the borough’s first responders.
The event is in memory of Simon Mariani, 28, a two-time University of Notre Dame graduate who was struck by lightning last July 14 when a summer storm sneaked up on a golf tournament he was playing in with his father.
