Bald eagle numbers in New Jersey are continuing to climb, according to the 2022 N.J. Bald Eagle Project Report, developed by the state Department of Environmental Protection’s Division of Fish and Wildlife along with the Conserve Wildlife Foundation. The 250 active nests identified last year represent an increase of 28 active nests since 2021, said DEP Commissioner Shawn M. LaTourette.

Of those active nests (meaning the nests produced eggs), 83% were successful, and collectively produced 335 offspring.
