The following is a love letter to my childhood beach house on Long Beach Island.

It was 1945. Clyde and Caroline Jennings, my maternal grandparents, along with daughters Gloria and Joan had survived the lean and brutal war years and were now building a Cape Cod-style beach house on Long Beach Island. Their new summer home, located at 506 N. Long Beach Boulevard in Surf City became a gathering place for friends, family, coworkers and neighbors. Life was good!
