Melges 15 Boat Provides Sleek, More Affordable Way for Adults to Sail

A new class of sailing boat has found its way onto Long Beach Island, and as it picks up pace as becoming a favored vessel across the U.S., it’s bound to become more popular at local yacht clubs.

“Last year, we started a new racing class at Little Egg Harbor Yacht Club called the Melges 15, or M15,” said longtime sailor Chris Fretz, a Philadelphia area native and regular at LEHYC on weekends throughout much of the year.
