The world was different last pre-COVID Christmas when the Long Beach Island Historical Museum in Beach Haven hosted its annual Christmas Craft Festival. Children were busy making tiny gingerbread houses and decorating small trees to take home. There was caroling and hot cocoa with marshmallows. After all the merriment I discovered 40 letters to Santa that hadn’t made it to the North Pole. The letters were sealed, unstamped and without a return address. I found them in a storage closet.
