On Oct. 28, 2012, my husband and I were hunkered down at my son and daughter-in-law’s condo in Monroe Township while Superstorm Sandy flooded our home in Forked River. Our little house on the water became a house under water.

When finally allowed back to our house, we dove into weeks of ripping up and out muddy carpets, furniture, walls, insulation and appliances. We will be eternally grateful for the help of family, friends and strangers.
