“What the heck is that thing?”

As the Holgate Taxpayers Association points out, many visitors to the southern section of Long Beach Island have no idea what to make of those strange black boxes they see here and there. The HTA, as board member Jeff Lipman explained, has therefore developed a greenhead fly trap awareness campaign called “Fly Bye.”

“We have gone through Holgate and stenciled all of the traps with a fun graphic and accompanying saying to pique interest and educate,” said Lipman.
