As extremely dry conditions persist throughout New Jersey, the state Department of Environmental Protection and the Forest Fire Service are urging the public to heed the Stage 3 fire restrictions put in place last week. These mandatory statewide restrictions prohibit all outdoor fires unless they are contained in an elevated stove using only propane, natural gas or electricity.
