Did you catch that epic, full lunar eclipse on Sunday evening? As an AD/HD type, I hereafter know what to put between watching paint dry and waiting for water to boil. Sorry, but that was some boring sh-tuff.
I always wondered how the Chinese could claim that an eclipse is a dragon eating the moon. Now I realize they were just so bored they held contests to see who could invent the most ridiculous imaginable reason for the eclipse. “And our winner is … Chong Ho Fat and his ‘Dragon eating moon’ suggestion. Let’s hear it for Fat!”
As to primitive people who would panic at the sight of an eclipse, all I can guess is they were excessively nervous…
