Much like her big sister, Jayne, now 7, my youngest daughter, Dorian, now at nearly 18 months, loves the beach. This works out well for us, of course, because we also love the beach. However, as it became increasingly evident all this summer, Dorian’s idea of how to enjoy the beach has been considerably different from ours.

For example, Dorian has shown no interest in relaxing and simply taking in the sun and salty air in Surf City.
