Ocean County, especially Southern Ocean County, and Long Beach Island in particular, is a Republican bastion.
For example, Republicans face no Democratic challenges in the municipal races in Barnegat Light, Ship Bottom, and Surf City this November. (Long Beach Township and Beach Haven have non-partisan elections and Harvey Cedars has no municipal elections this year.)
