To the Editor:
In September 1987 I, as a relatively young photojournalist, covered the 200th celebration of the ratification of the Constitution in Philadelphia. There was the usual pomp and circumstance, Americans proud to be Americans, a feeling of “us.” For me, the only real argument was between me and my editors about what was the best front page picture.
