They describe themselves as Post-Folk From the Pine Barrens, and among the adjectives they use are “primal, archaic, intimate.” And when you first see the nine-member group known as Burnt Tavern, your first thought might be “I’ve never heard anything like this before.”
Mark Ward, the key figure in putting the band together, said he couldn’t agree more.
