The term bulrush, also spelled bullrush, generally refers to tall, grass-like wetland plants found in marshes or swamps. They are an indigenous plant that used to be common here on LBI.
Back around 1967, a friend and I were hitchhiking from my parents’ home in Beach Haven Crest to Beach Haven. We were picked up by a black ’63 Ford Galaxy, with three guys in the front seat, just absolutely snot-slinging drunk.
