To the Editor:

I recently heard of a proposed new tax and I thought I would share it with everyone. It’s called an asset tax.

It has been proposed by a number of members of Congress over the past years, but was not moved forward by the larger majority. It is now on the horizon of being approved as a proposition in California, which means it would move to a vote by the citizens in California in the fall. If it passes as a prop, it then bypasses any legislative approval procedure and becomes law.
