At age 75, Barnegat Township resident Fred Rubenstein does not want to hear any talk about retirement. In fact, he embarked on a new career as he was recently named administrator for Plumsted Township (New Egypt).

Being in a position of leadership is nothing new to Rubenstein. He said that in his 51 years in the transportation field, 44 involved some type of managerial/administrative duties. His most recent job was director of Paratransit in Philadelphia.

“I had heard about the Plumsted position through a friend,” he said. “It really interested me, so I applied for it.”
