Barnegat head coach Michael Palmieri played the Herb Brooks card on June 4.

“I always post a quote in the dugout for every game, and today I went with his quote from ‘Miracle,’ because it was the right one for this game,” Palmieri said after his softball team made history by capturing its first NJSIAA South Jersey Group 2 championship with a 2-1 win over Gloucester. “If we played them 10 times, they might win nine. But not this game.”
