To the Editor:
Recent retreating flood tides, including those in Superstorm Sandy, deposited bay mud with unknown amounts of chemical pollutants on the streets and lawns of properties close to the bay as well as several inches of it in the houses. Moderate and above flood tides also produced the same results.
The source of the mud depositsis the eroding bay islands due to climate change and the continuing rise of the sea/bay levels. This island erosion is expected to continue over the foreseeable future.
