When the state budget plan was announced earlier this year Gov. Murphy said property tax relief was long overdue. The new budget signed into law last month will provide $2 billion in property tax relief for homeowners and rebates for renters.
Under the new ANCHOR (Affordable New Jersey Communities for Homeowners and Renters) program, which replaces the Homestead benefit program, more than 1.15 million homeowners will receive credit toward their property taxes.
