Manahawkin — Comcast’s new Xfinity Retail Store at 451 Martin Truex Jr. Blvd. in Stafford Township, opened Monday, Sept. 16. Customers can pay a bill and try out the latest products under the same roof.

It replaces the previous Comcast office on Route 9 North, officials said.

“The new Manahawkin Xfinity Retail Store is where customers who wish to do business with us in person should now visit; its opening takes the place of our former customer service center on Route 9,” confirmed Alexandra Wachman, public relations manager for Comcast.

The 4,500-square-foot store near the Manahawkin Commons plaza is the latest in New Jersey, among the company’s 14 other new interactive store models in the state. The center gives what the company calls “an immersive destination to discover and interact directly with the latest Xfinity products and services.”

The new store is open seven days a week – Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Trained sales consultants can answer questions about the store’s flat-screen TVs and interactive iPads. The contemporary showroom has places to sit while watching demonstrations of Xfinity products and apps.

Xfinity stores are designed strategically by product area —Xfinity Mobile, Xfinity X1, Xfinity Home and Xfinity Internet – so customers can see the products in action.

“Xfinity Mobile is a key part of Xfinity stores – customers can purchase new mobile phones, iPads and Apple Watches or bring their own Apple or Samsung devices (qualifying models) and choose a flexible data plan based on their individual needs – electing to pay by the gig or choose unlimited,” a press announcement says.

Customers can discover xFi, the Xfinity personalized home WiFi experience, and learn how to view and control network devices through the app, site or voice remote in the Xfinity Internet zone.

X1, the next generation video platform, is featured in a living room environment, so customers can try the voice remote and see how X1 works firsthand.

The Connected Home Zone section showcases how Xfinity Home combines home security and automation into one simple experience – customers can learn how they can control an increasing number of IoT devices from their phone, tablet or Xfinity Home touchscreen.

“Time-saving features like self-serve bill pay and a queuing system allow customers to explore the store instead of waiting in line for service,” the press announcement adds.

Jim Samaha, senior vice president for Comcast’s Freedom Region, said, “We are thrilled to continue to open Xfinity Retail Stores in the region, and we look forward to opening more locations soon so that we can provide our customers with a more welcoming, efficient and interactive experience.

“As our offerings evolve and expand, we want to bring our customers an incredible shopping experience, which showcases the power and innovation of our Xfinity products and demonstrates how they work together.”

A formal ribbon-cutting event is being planned for a date several weeks from now.
