Ship Bottom — Weichert, Realtors’ Long Beach Island sales office recently held a miniature golf event to benefit the American Cancer Society for breast cancer research. The fundraiser, which took place at Jen’s Links at LBI, located in Barnegat Light, raised approximately $1,300 for the cause, said William Darby, manager of the real estate sales office.

“In line with Weichert’s culture, we are honored to support organizations like the American Cancer Society that strive to make a positive impact in our communities,” Darby said.

“I especially would like to thank Jen’s Links at LBI for donating the use of one of their two 18-hole courses. Jen, her managers Robbie and Chris, and the entire staff were fantastic and so helpful. Everyone had a great time at their beautiful new facility.”

Local businesses supported the mini golf event by sponsoring holes with prizes. The businesses were: Maria Pennisi Esq., NJ LogoWear, Mario’s Italian Market, Vinnie’s Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria, Lakewood Country Club, and Denino’s Pizzeria. Bird and Betty’s sponsored a prize for a hole-in-one. Refreshments for the event were donated by Weichert Financial Services, Weichert Insurance Agency and Weichert Title Group.

The Long Beach Island office’s mini golf fundraiser was part of Weichert, Realtors’ company-wide initiative to raise money for the American Cancer Society for breast cancer research. Weichert offices throughout New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Maryland and New York have been holding their own fundraisers through the summer. The company has raised more than $1.4 million since the annual fundraiser began in 2001.
