Wednesdays Are Fun and Free in Beach Haven

Jul 12, 2019

When Beach Haven celebrated its 125th anniversary three years ago, residents and visitors had free access to the beach as well as to the borough’s tennis/pickleball courts and public boat ramp every Wednesday during the summer season. The feedback from “Fun Day” was so positive that the town has made it an annual summer tradition.

Sherry Mason, borough manager/clerk, said people have access to exclusive Wednesday deals, including coupons toward many of the town’s restaurants, shops and nonprofits.

“It’s a great way to attract people to Beach Haven,” said Mason. “It helps us in being a business- and tourist-friendly community.”

Barb Cona, president of the Beach Haven Chamber of Commerce, said various local businesses are offering discounts on Wednesdays. She said the chamber website (beachhavenchamber.com) has a list of participating businesses.

Wednesdays also offer a free concert series, sponsored by the Beach Haven Community Arts Program, at Veterans Memorial Park, beginning at 7 p.m.

“The concert is a perfect ending to a great day,” said Mason.
