Loveladies — The public is invited to take a self-guided tour of six exquisite properties on the Island’s north end Wednesday, Aug. 7 in the 53rd Annual Seashore Open House Tour.

The largest fundraiser of the year for the Long Beach Island Foundation of the Arts in Sciences, the tour goes from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The homes on the tour capture the history of the Island and its renowned architecture and are selected for their unique style, lush landscaping, dynamic interior décor and energy efficiency. These new and newly renovated homes are located in and between Loveladies and Surf City.

In addition, this year a special “House Tour Preview Forum” will be held on Sunday, Aug. 4 at 10 a.m. for advance ticket holders.

The forum will include presentations from architect Jay Madden, builder/contractor A. Richard Aitken Jr., a representative from Woodhaven Lumber to talk about modern building materials, and a designer from Between the Sheets. Woodhaven Lumber sponsors the tour.

Advance tickets are $40 and available online at lbifoundation.org or $45 on the day of the tour at the Foundation in Loveladies. All tour wristbands and house tour brochure guides will be available on the day of the tour at the Foundation. Tour takers are required to wear socks in all of the homes.
