Thefts From Autos, Shoplifting Suspects Sought

The Barnegat Police Department is investigating two burglary/thefts of unlocked motor vehicles that occurred in the area of Old Main Shore Road during the overnight hours between Feb. 2 and Feb. 3. Police Chief Keith Germain said that during the incidents, several items were removed including credit/debit cards. It was learned that one of the victim’s credit cards was used via Lyft, and another victim’s credit card was used at the Wawa on West Bay Avenue.

Germain said police are asking for assistance in identifying the two individuals pictured in Wawa surveillance footage as well as the vehicle.

In addition, police are also investigating a shoplifting incident from the CVS on West Bay Avenue on Feb. 12 at approximately  6:15 p.m. The male pictured in security videos was seen removing several items off the shelf and leaving the area toward Lighthouse Drive. No vehicle was observed.
