The Three R’s

Nov 13, 2019

To the Editor:

The “three R’s” capture the essence of the Democratic Party’s efforts to make Donald Trump a one-term president. Not to be confused with your early childhood years of reading, ’riting and ’rithmetic, the three R’s in question are Russia, racism and recession. To date, all the R’s receive a failing grade.

The popular resistance movement of the left condemns President Trump for mocking large groups of people. Then they mock anyone who voted for him. They revile him for trafficking in conspiracy theories. Then they traffick in their own. Like immature children, they refuse to accept the loss of an election.

Enter the three R’s. Throw something on the wall and see if it sticks. After a two-year investigation, the Mueller report fell flat on its face. Next on the wall was racism, the biggest joke of them all. Imagine this coming from the party that gave us Lester Maddox, Robert Byrd, the KKK and George Wallace. This same party was responsible for the interment of 120,000 Japanese-Americans in 1942, one of the most atrocious violations of American civil rights in the 20th century.

Now the Democratic Party claims that the administration’s economic polices will send this country into a recession. They put a negative spin on all the good news in the U.S. economy since Trump became president: low unemployment, especially among minorities, growing GDP, rising middle class income, strong retail sales, high consumer confidence and job creation.

Maybe they think they can scare you into voting for a Democratic socialist. Throw that on the wall and see if it sticks.
