The Right Stuff

Oct 09, 2019

To the Editor:

I have known John Imperiale and his wife, Barbara, for several years in a sports-related capacity.  John and Barbara are devoted to one another, as well as to Harvey Cedars, the town in which they reside. They are also very fair and honest players, and genuinely good people.

John is a candidate for commissioner in Harvey Cedars. His many years in the banking industry as senior vice president and director of corporate relations and community development speak to his ability in this arena. As you are aware, the role of commissioner is to regulate and initiate local ordinances that would affect Harvey Cedars. John’s strong background in finances will enable him to make wise spending decisions.

While I am aware of John’s corporate and community expertise, I have for several years witnessed his people skills during pickleball games on LBI. His ability to gently encourage beginners to be successful, his overseeing of the “honor” system of payment at the Bible Conference and his encouraging of equal play-time for all demonstrate his genuine interest in people and his incredible honesty.

While I do not pretend to know all of the qualities suited for commissioner, I do think John has the right stuff!
