Thanks and More

Nov 13, 2019

To the Editor:

First, allow me to thank the residents of Barnegat for their confidence in me by re-electing me to another term.

Next, the concert schedule is now complete, and we persuaded Gary Morton to come out of retirement for a single show on Saturday, Aug. 22 indoors. We had some suggestions for the concerts, but the cost for some of those bands was in the thousands.

Christmas Santa will do his normal tour of our town. Check the schedule. The tree lighting at town hall will need to be changed.

In our commitment to help downtown Barnegat, we will have a new event. The township committee will light a donated tree at Gazebo Park on Friday night, Dec. 6 at 5:30 p.m. All are invited. The gazebo and park will be decorated with help from the Barnegat Garden Club, local businesses and volunteers. The park is at the corner of West Bay Avenue and Route 9.

A ceremony to celebrate Hanukkah and the lighting of the menorah will be held there also on Dec. 22 at 4 p.m.

In addition, the township committee and the recreation department will hold its first annual “Sundaes With Snowman or Snowperson” on Sunday, Dec. 15 at 2 to 4 p.m. at the newly remodeled recreation center. The cost of the event is $6 per person and children under 2 are $2. All children will receive a make your own sundae, cookie decorating and crafts, snowman gift bag, homemade chocolate snowman, snowman balloon courtesy of Freckles the Clown and more. Music is by WBNJ.

For tickets contact the Barnegat Recreation, 609-698-0080, extension 122.

Albert Bille, committeeman
