Ship Bottom — Jeffrey Vasser, executive director of the New Jersey Division of Travel and Tourism, praised Hotel LBI during his visit there for the Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce’s Business After Hours event and tour June 26. He is pictured in the lobby with Lori Pepenella, chamber CEO.

“Something as significant as this to add to our tourism asset base is wonderful,” Vasser said. “Every time there is a new hotel opening, that’s not necessarily a big story, but something that’s as impressive as this, not only in size but just the beauty, and how (through artwork displays) it brings in the history of Long Beach Island – a property like this will bring people in because it’s a destination unto itself.” He also noted Hotel LBI “will go a long way toward extending the season” for metropolitan visitors looking for a weekend getaway.

Chamber businesspeople toured the luxury boutique hotel at 350 West Eighth St, in Ship Bottom and viewed some of the 102 unique suites with kitchens, as well as the atrium pool, salon, spa and fitness center, Salt kitchen and bar, the rooftop garden and bar, and other features.
