Stafford — On Sunday, Oct. 13, just before noon, an unidentified white man burglarized the Mama Maria’s Pizzeria located at 1116 Route 9, Stafford police announced Monday. He was wearing a dark-colored, hooded sweatshirt, baggy gray sweatpants, gray sneakers with dark trim and light-colored soles, and a distinct gray backpack with black trim.

A short time later, the same guy burglarized the shopping plaza located at 25 South Main St. in Manahawkin, forcing entry into Jersey Mikes, Asian Gourmet, Andy’s Pizzeria and an abandoned store front.

On the police Facebook page, police released video surveillance footage that shows the suspect entering a commercial kitchen and using a crowbar to open a cash register. He had approached the rear of the businesses on a dark-colored mountain bike with reflectors on the wheels, before entering the businesses through their rear doors and removing an undisclosed amount of cash from the cash registers. Police believe the man is the same suspect involved in multiple store burglaries in the Little Egg Harbor area on Oct. 8.

Anyone with any information regarding this case may contact Detective Drew Smith of the Stafford Township Police Department at dsmith@staffordpolice.org or (609) 597-1189 extension 8435.  —V.F.
