Stafford Township — Feast your eyes on hot-off-the-runway looks at St. Francis of Assisi Parish’s eighth annual Garden Party by the Sea: A Fashion Show, to be held Wednesday, June 19, from 3 to 5:30 p.m. at Bonnet Island Estate in Manahawkin. The event will showcase the newest and trendiest styles from several Long Beach Island boutiques – The Island Shop, Patchington, Sink ’R Swim Men’s Shop, Sur la Plage and Wildflower.

For the last 25 years, St. Francis has held a fashion show as both a community-building event and fundraiser for its diverse programs at the community center. The Fashion Show Committee is comprised of nine St. Francis of Assisi parishioners and community members who are dedicated to making the event a success, year after year.

The models for the evening will be a combination of friars, sisters and parishioners who love to strut their stuff. Prior to the event, The Fashion Show Committee meets with each store to pick the featured outfits, according to committee chairwoman Lori Dudek.

“All of the fashions are unique and beautiful, and it is extremely difficult to choose a favorite,” she said.

Doors will open at 3 p.m., and a light fare from the Octopus’s Garden will be served on the patio overlooking the beautiful Barnegat Bay. All guests are invited to participate in the 50/50 raffle, chance basket auction, the annual wine pull and grab bag.

The show will take place in the spacious ballroom while the sunlight pours through gorgeous windows as the perfect spotlight. Musical entertainment will be provided by Paul Pestritto on the piano, Davie Weiner on flute and Ray Bohn on bass.

Tickets for the fashion show are $50 and are available to purchase at St. Francis Community Center, located at 4700 Long Beach Blvd. in Brant Beach. Tickets cannot be purchased at the door.
