High school students from throughout the state can win scholarship money by entering Conserve Wildlife Foundation of New Jersey’s Species on the Edge 2.0 social media contest. Students are asked to submit an original Facebook campaign showing why wildlife protection in New Jersey is important.

The educational competition offers students the opportunity “to put their expertise with social media to work protecting wildlife, and showcase their talent, creativity and love of nature,” CWF notes. “The contest helps students develop experience in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) and project management skills.”

The contest is free to enter, and students have the chance to win scholarship money – $1,000, $500 and $250 for first, second and third place, respectively – and other prizes, including a day in the field with a wildlife biologist.

Contest applications are due May 3.
