Stafford Township — The Stafford branch of the Ocean County Library could have the feel of a tropical paradise when the Friends of the Library present the South Pacific Island Dancers on Thursday, May 30 at 6:30 p.m. Sponsored by the Friends of the Branch, the event was postponed from an earlier date.

As the tri-state area’s largest and longest running Polynesian entertainment group, the South Pacific Island Dancers have been leaders in live luau entertainment and Polynesian dance education for more than 30 years. Founded by Chief Sikopu “Scope” Savaiinaea Ulugia (a native of Western Samoa) and the late Colleen Savaiinaea in 1987, the troupe has remained a family-owned and operated business, providing authentic Polynesian entertainment throughout the tri-state area and beyond.
