SOMC Goes Aglow for Lights of Life Tree-Lighting Dec. 5

Manahawkin — The 26th annual Lights of Life holiday tree lighting at Southern Ocean Medical Center will take place on Thursday, Dec. 5, starting at 5:30 p.m. The following organizations will light a tree at this year’s event: Boy Scouts Pack 61, Coastal Volunteers in Medicine, Girl Scouts Brownie Troop 50336, Habitat for Humanity, Jewish Community Center of LBI (menorah lighting), Long Beach Island Rotary Club, St. Francis Community Center and Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce.

To accompany the seasonal glow will be performances by Amanda Rose and tunes by the Southern Regional High School band, as well as a visit from Santa Claus and holiday treats.

The event is free to the public; more than 100 people are expected to attend.

Those attending gather at Reynolds Arboretum at the medical center. The hospital is located at 1140 Route 72 West in Manahawkin. —M.S.
