Shore Brake Cyclery Receives ‘America’s Best Bike Shop’ Award

Brant Beach — Shore Brake Cyclery received the America’s Best Bike Shop award this month from the National Bike Dealers Association. The Brant Beach shop is one of only two in New Jersey to earn the distinction this year, which is based on an application and secret shopper process, the owners said.

“It’s a true honor to be recognized as one of the top local bicycle retailers in the United States,” said Charlie Kulp, Shore Brake Cyclery owner. “We love what we do and take pride in serving our customers well by providing them the best experience each and every time they enter our shop.”

The NBDA’s America’s Best Bike Shops program identifies and rewards bicycle stores in North America for high performance standards. Shops are scored on shop layout and design, staff and management, training, marketing, and community involvement. Only the highest performing shops receive an America’s Best Bike Shop distinction.

“The America’s Best Bike Shop program is as much about the application process as it is the award,” said Brandee Lepak, NBDA president. “The highest-scoring shops earn the America’s Best designation, but everyone who applies gains insight and learns ways to improve their business.”

Applicants must be independent bicycle stores with a physical store open to the public that sells bicycles, parts, accessories, and has a service department. At least half of a store’s total sales must be related to bicycles and be from a physical store location.

Founded in 2016, Shore Brake Cyclery is a local, family-owned shop that is committed to serving cyclists of all types, from the casual rider to the racing enthusiast. The shop carries Trek, Fuji, Tuesday, Felt, Sun, 3G, Surly, All-City and SE Bikes, while offering a full-service repair department for all makes and models.
