Ship Bottom Police Arrest Man on Two Counts of Lewd Behavior

Ship Bottom — Borough police announced they arrested a man on two counts of lewdness after responding to the Wawa convenience store at the Causeway circle June 17 following reports of a man committing a lewd act inside his vehicle.

Upon arriving at the scene, police were told the individual had left in his vehicle, according to borough law enforcement officials. Police were given a detailed description of the vehicle and suspect from a victim who witnessed the incident.

The suspect was located inside another store within the borough, police said. A positive identification of the suspect was made and he was arrested before being transported back to police headquarters.

He was processed and charged with two counts of lewdness. Further investigation revealed the suspect was wanted for a previous incident at the same location in August 2018. According to the victims, the suspect never physically approached, touched or assaulted anyone on either occasion and the victims never physically confronted the suspect.

Police did not release the any personal information about the suspect.  —G.G.S.
